Lay the team who takes the lead with 2-4% liability.
Comeback is another
simple strategy which takes advantage of potentially very profitable low
laying opportunities. It can potentially be used in any match but the
best results have been seen when the favourite goes 0-1 down at home. At
this point we simply lay the team who've just taken the lead with 2-4%
liability but, if the side who're now leading are still above 2.00 you would
back the losing team with a 2-4% stake instead. Obviously, you don't
just do this blindly on every match you trade. You can watch how the
game settles down after the goal and assess any tactical or team changes
that are made before deciding if the losing team has a realistic chance
of scoring the next goal.
Sometimes the price will be so
low or the situation just right for you to lay immediately and be
comfortable with the position regardless of how the losing team is
playing. For example, last night in the Manchester derby when City took
the lead at Old Trafford, it was obvious that there would be a positive
& immediate reaction from Utd to try and get back into the match.
So, I laid City almost immediately at 1.58 with 2% liability to cover a
quick equaliser. I had planned to lay City again with another 2%
liability at 1.42 or if they scored again to go 0-2 ahead.
On this occasion Utd scored
just 7mins after going behind so I was unable to do the second lay but
happy to green up some nice profit from the initial lay anyway. Once you
have green from this trade you can move it across however you see fit,
depending on the game situation but if you're laying a team which, is 2
goals ahead I would usually recommend that you leave your profit split
equally between the team that is winning and the draw because hardly any
teams ever come back from 2 behind to win the match. The most likely
outcome is the team that was 2 ahead will go on to win the match anyway
and often they score a third goal as the losing team pushes further
forward in search of an equaliser.
There are odd occasions when
2, 3 and even 4 goal leads are wiped out but they are very few and far
between and when they do happen its even more rare to see the losing
team comeback to win from such a long way behind. Recent history saw Utd
come from 3 down against Chelsea to draw 3-3 and Newcastle famously
went in 0-4 down at home against Arsenal but came all the way back to
draw 4-4 in the end. The most common use you'll get out of the Comeback strategy
is laying a team which is leading by one or two goals, where you'll
only need the losing team to score once for you to green up with a tidy
profit.
